Boer Goats

Boer Goats Boer goats commonly have white bodies and distinctive brown heads. They possess long, pendulous ears & are fast growing, and having high fertility rates. Does are reported to have superior mothering skills as compared to other goats. Boer Goats are the only goats in the world bred specifically for meat production. They were developed in South Africa. These Goats having the high resistance power against the various diseases. These Goate can survive longer in droughts , poor grazing conditions, cold climates etc. than other goats. Mature Boer bucks weigh between 110–135 kg (240-300 lb), and mature does between 90–100 kg (200-220 lb).

Boer Goats give lean, high quality meat which is tender, juicy and flavoursome. Boers provide larger, higher quality skins which fetch better market prices compared with local goat skins.Boer goats have brought about a goat meat revolution in Australia, China, the U.S.A. and Canada

Saanen Goats

Saanen goats originated in Switzerland. Saanen goats are best known for their potentially enormous milk yield , they are also extremely docile and easy to handle. Saanen goates are White to biscuit in color with black spots on the nose, ears, and udder. The breed is polled. The goats are large in size with straight nose and erect ears pointed forward and upward. The body has a good dairy conformation and the udder is well developed. It is known as milk queen of the goat world. There appears to be a tendency for them to be sensitive to strong sunlight and thus it needed to shade them and provide indoor management. Average live weight 55-70 kg.
